Shefali Lahoti Cultural Academy, established
in 1994, with an emphasis on innovation through
assimilation of diverse cultures, strives to combine
various dance styles, music, traditions and culture.
The institute not only gives training in pure
Classical Kathak Dance, but also provides
an opportunity to learn combinations of Rap
Committed to excellence in the field of dance
and music, the institute imparts intensive training
without losing sight of creativity. All the performances
staged by the academy, though varied, make a conscious
effort to highlight the richness of Indian culture.
Understandably, its shows find appeal amongst
diverse age groups.
The Academy has been acknowledged as a trendsetter
in choreography and staging highly innovative
fusion shows. It has, on several occasions, enthralled
audiences at the internationally acclaimed Pune
'Fusion' is the academy's highly
acclaimed three-hour programme which epitomises
the best of the Eastern and Western dance forms.
The act is an attempt to create a combination
of different classical, folk and western dance
styles, varied costumes, different languages and
multiple cultures. Another well-known program
of the Academy is the "Little Miracles
of Pune", featuring Pune's highly talented
children up to the age of 12 years. Talented kids,
who have been selected from amongst more than
1000 aspirants after rigorous elimination rounds,
present the show.
"Fire N Fashion" is yet another innovative three-hour programme with a catwalk, dance and firework perfomance - all creatively
synchronised and presented.
With the increasing advent of multinational
company, the Academy is frequently invited to
give special performances to international delegates
of business houses. Thus the Academy is continuously
expanding its horizons with its trained and talented
artists. And in the Academy, the search for excellence
and innovation continues...
